Just the other day at USC’s Galen Center, Bryce James, the talented son of NBA legend LeBron James, stole the spotlight with his impressive performance on the high school basketball court. Making a guest appearance for Sierra Canyon in their Chosen1 Invitational match against Coronado, the junior player wowed the spectators, including his proud father LeBron and the rest of their family, who were cheering from the sidelines.
Five months back, Bronny, the older brother of Bryce, made his comeback to the basketball court after a heart attack. Despite playing for USC against Auburn on Sunday, Bronny couldn’t watch his brother in action as he was away with his team.
The Sierra Canyon squad continued their winning streak with a 59-point victory over Coronado, leading the game from the start and finishing with a score of 83-55 on Saturday night. Bryce James, a 6-4 shooting guard, managed three assists, scored eight points (including two three-pointers), and had a field goal percentage of 45% in his twenty-one minutes of play.
The turning point in the game was Sierra Canyon’s impressive 46-18 lead at halftime. Junior wing Bryce Cofield contributed significantly to the team’s success, scoring 21 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists. Thanks to his stellar performance, Sierra Canyon now boasts a 10-1 record. In the upcoming Santa Barbara Tournament, they will face off against Burroughs High School.
Bryce James, much like his brother Bronny, is choosing to keep a low profile during the recruitment process. Despite this, he has caught the attention of college coaches and recruiters with his sharpshooting skills and finesse around the basket. Previous unofficial visits to Ohio State and USC have only added to his growing reputation as a promising young talent.
According to LeBron James, Bryce James has some remarkable pocket distributing abilities. Throughout his son’s basketball journey, LeBron has always shown his support and admiration. Most recently, the NBA star took to Instagram to praise Bryce’s impressive skills on the court, especially highlighting a fantastic pocket pass.
“Great job on that spectacular pocket pass, James exclaimed, praising Bryce’s exceptional skills on the court. Bryce really stood out in Sierra Canyon’s latest game, where he not only nailed that difficult maneuver but also made several other impressive plays.
Despite being just a junior, Bryce’s talent has already caught the attention of USC, Ohio State, and Duquesne. He has been recognized as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, with a focus on his exceptional passing and shooting abilities that have shown consistent improvement.”
This isn’t just a proud parent bragging; it’s a stamp of approval from someone with years of experience in the game – and that someone is LeBron James. As Bryce keeps playing high school basketball, his impressive talent will only grow, setting him up for a future in the professional basketball world.
